Food: market café buffet was average at best. Agustin the bartender working the manatee bar was one of the best we encountered. water slides were fun if you're a child trapped in an adults body like we are. we waited 1-2 hours consistently, and then 1 evening the food didn't even show up. order it if you want to wait double the time they tell you, or if it shows up. Only issue with housekeeping was that they took our daily event sheet multiple times so we had no idea what times things opened/ closed after 7pm some days. Rooms were cleaned on time and turned down. This was awesome and definitely helped our stay. Room was awesome, bathroom is huge and open with a tub and 2 rain showers. check in was super fast and we got a complimentary upgrade to a superior ocean view room by the Sky Bar. Room: Stayed for 6 days- booked the basic room with pool view. since we're young and didn't have carry ons, this wasn't bad, but if you can spend the xtra money, or may have an issue with the portage, I'd recommend flying in direct. it's not bad but the walkway is cobblestone so that's fun with suitcases! Ferry to coz was about 45 mins and 12-15 bucks. They drop you off at a shopping center/ mall right on the water. We hired trans to take us to the ferry at playa, and then pick us up there on the way home. Cozumel was not direct and about 300+ per person. travel: we flew into cancun directly to save some money. I'm sure there are plenty of places to stay that would be just as adequate or better. We would not stay there again unfortunately. Still had a blast despite the resort not meeting expectations. We aren't high maintenance and used to bartend/ wait tables in college so we didn't let little things ruin our trip.
